Image to Image AI: Restyle a Picture with a Prompt
Image to image AI starts from a picture you provide and a prompt that says what to change. Add up to four reference images, describe the new look and generate.
Free images and their prompts are public by default and may appear in the gallery after review.
60 credits per rolling 24 hours, no sign-up needed.
What image to image does, and what it does not
With image to image, your upload acts as a guide; people also call it ai image to image, an image to image generator, or photo restyling. The model reads the layout, the shapes and the colors, then redraws the picture according to your text. A photo can become a watercolor, a rough sketch can become a finished scene, and a product shot can be moved into a different setting.
It does not edit a file the way a photo editor does. Pixels are not moved or erased one by one; a new picture is generated that resembles the input. Fine details such as small text, faces or logos can change, so treat the output as a fresh image inspired by your upload, not a pixel-exact retouch.
Upload, describe, generate
1. Add your reference images
Drop in one image, or up to four. Use clear pictures where the subject is easy to see. When you add several, say in the prompt what each should contribute, for example the pose from the first and the color mood from the second.
2. Write what should change
Describe the result, not the input. "Same street, but as a rainy night scene in anime style" gives the model a target. Mention what must stay the same if it matters, such as the composition or the main subject.
3. Generate and compare
Press Generate and compare the result with your upload. If it drifted too far, make the prompt more specific about what to keep. If it changed too little, name the new style more strongly and try again.
Use cases: restyle, sketch to image, photo to art
- Restyle a photo: turn a holiday snapshot into a painting, a comic panel or a retro poster.
- Sketch to image: start from a quick line drawing and ask for a finished illustration with color and lighting.
- Photo to art: keep a portrait or landscape composition but render it as ink, pastel or 3D.
- Product scenes: place an object in a new background to test ideas before a real shoot.
- Variations: feed in your own earlier result and ask for a different mood.
For ideas on the wording, browse the AI image prompts examples; most of them work as the text part here too.
Image to image or text to image?
Pick text to image when all you have is an idea in words. Pick image to image when a picture already carries something you want to keep, such as a pose, a room layout or a color palette. In practice the two work well together: explore with words first, then bring the best result back as a reference.
Files, credits and what happens to your uploads
Guests can add reference images just as signed-in users can. A guest holds 60 credits on a rolling 24-hour window; a signed-in account also gets a 30-credit daily check-in and a single 30-credit gift; and the button shows what a run costs before you press it.
Free runs produce 1K images. Pictures created on the free plan, and the prompts that go with them, are public by default and can be shown in the gallery after review, so do not upload photos of people who have not agreed, or anything private. Details on file size and format limits are [[TBD-UPLOAD-LIMITS]]. Paid options are explained plan by plan in the paid plan guide.
FAQ
Where can I try image to image ai free no sign up?
Yes. A guest session needs no account, and what you make is kept for 7 days.
How many reference images can I use?
Up to four. Use fewer when you want a close match to one picture, and more when you want to blend ideas from several.
What is the best image to image ai generator free of charge?
It depends on the job. Look for one that accepts the number of references you need, shows the cost of each run, and states its limits clearly. Try the same prompt on your own picture and compare results.
Will the output keep my original face or logo exactly?
Not exactly. The model generates a new picture, so faces, small text and logos can shift. For pixel-exact edits, use a photo editor.
Can I upload a photo of another person?
Only if you have the right to use it and the person has agreed. Free images are public by default, which makes this especially important.
